Day 334: Top 8 Tips to Minimize Holiday Stress

Wednesday, November 30, 2011

It's crunch time! Christmas is right around the cornor!

Stress less this holiday season and focus on what's truly important...family, friends, laughter, spending time together...it's what Christmas is all about!

My mama sent me this helpful e-mail...

Say hello to the new "How to get through the holiday season alive guide!"

1) Learn to say no. Only say yes to what you can manage without over-stressing.  Don’t let anyone push you into saying yes; saying no sometimes is healthy.

2) Be realistic. Lower your expectations.  The holidays do not have to be perfect to be a memorable success. Simplify and prioritize.

3) Plan Ahead. After setting your priorities, be sure to plan in advance.  Set aside specific dates for shopping, baking, etc.  Be sure to schedule in downtime for yourself.  After all, you can’t get anything done if you end up sick.

4) Set aside differences. Remembering that no one is perfect, try to accept family members and friends as they are. Because everyone is feeling stress from the holidays, be understanding.

5) Stick to a budget. Before you shop, decide how much money you can afford to spend. Be creative and make gifts with your kids to make something really special.

6) Make time for yourself. Get plenty of exercise and sleep. Make time to relax.

7) Don’t overindulge. Have a healthy snack before holiday parties so that you don’t eat or drink too much at the event. Eating healthy will give you the energy you need to get through this busy season.

8) Take a ‘stretch-break’. Focus on breathing and clear your mind.

Day 333: Wishes, Dreams & Desires

Tuesday, November 29, 2011

What would happen if you received everything you ever wanted right this second?

If everything you ever dreamed of was in your hands and your goals were reached…what would get you going each morning?

If every problem in your life were solved right now, what would you fight for? Where would you direct your newborn energy?

It’s easy to become frustrated and hopeless when you don’t get what you want with a snap of a finger. You must dig deeper than your frustration and remind yourself why you desire the things you desire.

No matter how frustrated you are, keep pursuing your desires. Everything that crosses your path  has purpose.

Have patience with the world and instead of getting frustrated, get inspired and creative. Before you know it your desire will be fulfilled and you'll be onto the next one!

Day 332: Make the best of it

Monday, November 28, 2011

No matter where you are in life, always make the best of your situation.

Do you hate your job?

If so, don’t complain about it. You’re obviously holding on to it because you need it, most likely to pay the bills and take care of yourself/ your family.

With every new day comes new opportunity to grow and improve your situation.

Instead of wasting your time and energy complaining about your job…make something great of it. Learn anything and everything you can today so you can build your intelligence before you move onto something bigger and better.

Keep in mind, where you are in life right now doesn’t matter nearly as much as where you are going.

Many of us have unpleasant jobs but you have to value them because they do keep a roof over your head and food on the table. Turn your negative approach into a positive one.

The best part of hating a job or situation is the fact that you can always have something to look forward to when you get out of it. One day an opportunity will come about and you will find something you like…you just need to be assertive about looking and also patient.

Keep building ideas in your mind and on paper so one day you can free yourself from your situation and do something you truly love.

Anything is possible...you just have to believe.

Day 331: Spread the joy this season!

Sunday, November 27, 2011

It’s the season of giving…
Every encounter is an opportunity to give a little piece of joy. It can be something as genuine as giving a smile, a hug, a laugh or if you feel like whipping up something in the kitchen… bake some cookies and give them away!
In order to keep your own life full of joy you must spread joy every chance you get. Giving joy to others will not only add richness to their life but to your own life too.
No matter how hard your life is, how stressed you are, how bad your day is going…be sure to spread joy this season. Smile at strangers, be kind, show respect…and let the joy inside your life touch other people’s lives.

Day 330: Stay strong...one of my favortie YouTube videos

Saturday, November 26, 2011

Whatever you start in life, be sure to finish strong.

God gave you the strength, power and knowlege not only to start something...but also to finish it.

Keep your head up high and push through the tough times, you can do it.

Have faith. Good things are coming your way.

Happy beautiful Saturday!

Day 329: Fill your thoughts with peaceful purpose.

Friday, November 25, 2011

What are you stressing about?

Whatever it is…take this moment to fill your thoughts with peaceful purpose.

Stressing will only hurt you…instead of overwhelming yourself with thousands of fearful thoughts, fill your mind with awareness of the positive possibilities and how you can bring them alive.

Instead of stressing about the things you don't have, live everyday with the thankful heart and be greatful for the things you do have. Do this and you will experience joy on a daily basis.

Don’t get down about life if it’s not going your way…invest your time and focus in making the very best of your situation. Move forward with a positive attitude and live your days with calm and peace.

Day 328: Happy Thanksgiving!

Thursday, November 24, 2011

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!

I’m officially in a food coma…but here I go...

Today is a very special day for you to count your blessings.

Observe and show gratitude for the people in your life, the things you have, the things you know, your unique skills, your job, your health, your wealth, your individual perspective on life, your appreciation for this world, your concern for people in need, your ability to seek opportunity and more. The list of things you should observe and be thankful for is endless...AND the value of everything you are thankful for is priceless!

I believe the best blessing in life is  family, friends and the sense of community.

Life would be pretty meaningless without our friends and loved ones. You could have all the materialistic luxuries that you ever wanted…but most of them would be worthless if you didn’t have someone to enjoy them with!

Thanksgiving isn’t only about observing the joys in life…it’s also about observing the disappointments. Observe any disappointments you have encountered over the years and connect them with something positive. Find a ways to be thankful for EVERYTHING, and you will unveil an abundance of value in every direction.

Happy Thanksgiving & have fun spending time with loved ones!
xoxo

Day 327: Utilize everything you are thankful for!

Wednesday, November 23, 2011

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving! Gobble gobble!

I know you are thankful for many things in your life...and the BEST way to show how thankful you are for those things is to make use of them!

Are you thankful for the ones you love? Prove it! Express how much you love them, give them your time and thoughts, make an effort to be with them or call them, because the gift of attention and time is always treasured.

Are you thankful for your life? Prove it! Make something of yourself; take every opportunity to impact the world in a positive manner. Live with meaning and purpose.

Utilize everything you are thankful for. The more you utilize everything the more goodness will come of it!

The greatest gift you can give back to the universe is an attitude of gratitude because you are uniquely blessed!

Day 326: Revenge is a toxic and tragic waste of time.

Tuesday, November 22, 2011

When some people see others succeed they get jealous and resort to envy, gossip and sadly some resort to a bad case of revenge. These unfortunate resolutions will only lead you to hurt yourself…and many others along the way.

Being spiteful isn’t worth a second of your time. Nothing of value will come from it.

All the time you waste spend thinking of a negative scheme to hurt someone will never be given back to you, and the damage you do will never be repaired. Revenge is a toxic and tragic waste of time.

If you ever feel the urge to put someone down…stop and ask yourself, “What will I gain from this?”

You will realize nothing positive will come out of it, so snap out of your spiteful state of mind and redirect your energy into something that will bring value into your life.

Don’t let your ego set you up for failure. Only use your precious time and effort to make a positive impact in this world...for this is the only way you will add everlasting and true richness into your life.

Day 325: When life gives you lemons...

Monday, November 21, 2011

Once in a while you will have a day where nothing goes your way…like the saying, “When it rains, it pours.”

Life is full of dissapointments, frustrations and set backs. Sometimes they land on your plate all at once and then you find yourself in a funk.

When you live in a funk you start to concentrate on the negative side of everything.

Instead of being in a funk, attempt to rise above it! Do something positive…it can be as innocent as organizing your pantry or dresser…or go outside and plant some flowers…do something that will bring positive purpose into your day.

Take control of your life and don’t be discouraged by life’s twists and turns. Bring goodness into your life, doesn’t matter how big or small because whatever you accomplish will work wonders on your attitude and outlook on life.

Go help someone. Helping others can get you out of a funk. Make someone laugh, bring them a batch of cookies, tell them a story, offer to babysit your friends kids…if you cheerfully do something for another person you will instantly feel like you have a positive purpose in life.

A quick way to snap out of a funk is to count your blessings! You have so many amazing things in your life and too often you take them for granted. Be thankful for all the wonderful things that exist in your life, the roof over your head, the food on your table, your education, your loved ones, you life’s experiances, your brain…think about all the people that would do anything for you and that will bring a smile to your face.

Re-direct your negative energy into something that will change you for the better. Adjust your attitude because life is as negative or as positive as you make it!

Day 324: Have you noticed?

Sunday, November 20, 2011

Have you noticed today…
How wonderful and beautiful the world is.
How fortunate you are.
How blessed you are to be alive.
How blessed you are to be healthy.
How various new opportunities have crossed your path over the years to make you the person you are today.
How powerful your own special purpose is.
Today is not just any ordinary Sunday-- it’s a new day.
Now that you have thought about all of the above…open yourself to the best possibilities of this day because it is yours to fulfill and live to the fullest!

Day 323: Accept what is now.

Saturday, November 19, 2011

It is what it is.
Accept where you are today. Acceptance doesn’t mean you’re giving up on where you can go. Acceptance means you 100% accept where you are, and because of that, you enable yourself to make positive use of everything available to you.
The moment you accept what is happening in your life, is the moment you can start to make positive use of the obstacles, disappointments and triumphs. Let go of any resentment or anger you have over any failures or mishaps and focus to make the best out of your new unplanned situation.
The past is the past. Stop fighting the battles that are already over and start accepting the new paths that are about to unfold.
Learn from the past and dive into the future!

Day 322: Relax before the holidays hit you!

Friday, November 18, 2011

I know, I know every Friday I usually blog about relaxing…but that’s all I can really think about when the weekend comes around!

Relaxation doesn’t require sitting on your butt and doing nothing…

You can relax by focusing on your favorite hobby or hanging out with loved ones…

Just think about all the things that can be done that won’t cause you to be frantic...and do them…there is plenty and if you can't figure it out send me an e-mail and I will assign you something to do ;-)

Don’t make any plans this weekend…just plan to relax.

Christmas is right around the corner you will have plenty of time to be frantic then  ;-)

Day 321: A daily dose of love

Thursday, November 17, 2011

Is there any greater truth then love? I don’t believe so.

The truth is if you love others freely, love will easily come back to you in various shapes and forms.

Don’t hold all the love you have just for your selfish self because you will end up making yourself smaller than you already are.

Love like nothing else matters in the world, because without love…it doesn’t.

Think about how powerful love is...it's so powerful that it will carry on through the most difficult times and hopeless situations.

Let love guide your actions, today, forever and always!

Day 320: Have a thankful heart

Wednesday, November 16, 2011

Begin each day and end each day with a thankful heart.
Right when you wake up in the morning, think of 10 things you are grateful for. And then at the end of the day, before you fall asleep, think of 10 more things you are grateful for.
Fill your thoughts with thankfulness because your life is full of blessings.
If you are thankful for everything you have you are POWERFUL...because if you show gratitude you will attract more positive blessings into your life!
